COTSWOLD KARATE SCHOOL
Cotswold Karate School was founded in 2024. Head Instructor Jack Heritage (4th Dan) decided to structure a school that conveyed the key message of practicality, self-protection, and live training. Jack has trained most of his life, starting at the age of 7 under the Instruction of Ed Mountney (6th Dan) from United Sport Karate Organisation.
Originally, Cotswold Karate School was opened in January 2020 as a franchise of
USKO. The Longborough location was the first to open in 2020, and then Later in 2021 the second location in Chipping Campden Secondary School was opened. Evesham's club at FMA then opened in the January of 2025.
CKS prides itself on keeping things 'real' and always striving to evolve. Nowadays we care less about keeping things 'traditional' unless it serves a useful purpose.

UNITED SPORT KARATE ORGANISATION
U.S.K.O. began teaching its students back in 1996 under the instruction of Ed Mountney, Jon Robbins, and Andy Hobday. SAFEGUARDING, INSURANCES & POLICIES
. All of our instructors are DBS-checked, and are educated in child safeguarding so they are equipped to identify and deal with any potential warning signs we may notice in regards to a child's welfare. Jack Heritage is the designated welfare officer for Cotswold Karate School and has completed NSPCC Safeguarding training.
. We are fully insured with Public Liability Insurance and we issue licenses to our students to insure them against any potential injuries that may occur.

. We have zero tolerance towards bullying of any kind and have open communication with parents and students to help eliminate any unhappiness our students may experience.

. Our learning environment is relaxed yet productive, with questions always welcome to help students understand why we do the things we do. It is also key to us that we emphasise the difference between real-life self-protection and competitive combat sports so that we may avoid misunderstandings that can lead to dire consequences outside of the dojo.
. We pride ourselves here at CKS on our personal development mentality that drives us to always strive to improve how we instruct, how we run the club; and the quality of services we provide.
